Does anyone know where to get a free C compiler because I don't want to pay for "Microsoft's Visual C++ environment".
Obviously I can find them, but I don't know which ones are any good... This one from www.download.com seems quite popular as it has been downloaded 350,000 times:

Digital Mars C/C++ Compiler 8.47

Any good?
If not can you please recommend one to me, and maybe even post a link or attach it? Lol.
Thanks everyone.

EDIT: Colour is fun... and so is font size.

There is a link for download there http://qbasicnews.com/files/qb11.zip

Theres only one way to learn. Just dive right in. Syntax is nothing. Learning to think logically is what is difficult.

Wow. A post from appalasp. I'm touched. I was thinking of doing C next but decided to do Java and then C. Does that sound ok?

Thanks. So your saying I should do Java next? Right? I'll check my last thread. Lol.

Start with C++ or even plain vanilla C. Thats what I did and I've never regretted it. I'm a far better programmer than I would of have been otherwise.

Ok thanks guys. Or in appalsap's case, girls. Ok. I'll take your word for it. Just one question. Do you know any good C tutorials? I would search, but as I don't know if it's a good tut because I don't know any C. Lol.
Thanks again. Then I can start programming...
Cool. Very Happy

I found this when i looked for a sec

Also, you can use a C++ compiler for C

Bloodshed or Borland or VC++.

Oh, and I have Microsoft Visual C++, if you want it, PM me.

Visual Basic...
I remember the Sythe forums, they had a virus in every download.

Oh, and i've posted this before, but sean.cruels.net has tutorials on SQL, C++, DirectX, HTML, VB, and Java, they are all videos. I am currently catching my C++ knowledge up with my Java knowledge.

Everyone was right; but me... Crying or Very sad Razz
Now I'm looking for a free C compiler. Hopefully fast and efficient, oh yeah, and uninfected if possible. Wink
