| vista, no special option, just attach the debugger to get the assembly code, stop, go back to game and it crash.

find out what accesses, write or reads?
If you use reads, try switching to accesses
Also, run ce in compatyibility mode with xp, and make it use debug registers. By default ce will detect vista as a crap os (usually windows me, 98 and 95) and disables some features that would crash you on those systems, but I believe vista is able to use debugregisters (of course, there's a reason it detects it as a crap os, so I might be wrong and vista won't support debugregisters)

Evidence: IDA Pro debugger can use Debug registers in vista. It can also read their values(unlike CE). Does it detect Vista as a crap OS because it has a setup like:
if OS == win xpsp2, winxpsp1, win2000 goto CE else crappy OS?(O yea t3h crappy batch file syntax[if that]).

what is debug register? sry, i'm a newbie.
it's not something to do with vista, i figured out that if i run it as admin, there's really no diff from xp.
even in xp, the prog also crash. just tried it on the tutorial, it's quite random, sometime it crash, sometime not.

no, if OS >=win2000 enable settings, else disable, but it seems that the OS value retrieved is smaller
anyhow, run as admin (and xp compat mode) go to settings->code finder, and make sure "Use debug registers" is checked. (And make sure that prevent debugger detection is NOT checked)

You have to manipulate the source so it doessn't read Vista as a Newer Os but as Vista.
