That means say goodbye to health hacks money hacks and teleportation gacks in GTA 6 and future rockstar games.
Its not impossible but we will def not get exact values for these. We might have to search for encrypted values and there will be multiple of them we have to modify all of them to get the result but even then the game has other tech up its sleeves to detect that.
So the super easy health hack money hack that we used to find on youtube for gta 5 or RDR games will not be seen for gta 6. Unless someone from us takes it a challenge and gives their complete time to unlocking the obfuscation method.
The patent has the way but looks super complex from here.
I've thought of this exact system before, and this still has the same problem: hooking the obfuscation function will easily provide a list of every important value in the game and gives you a convenient place to modify it as needed. Checksums or any other form of redundancy checks aren't relevant if you go through the same functions the game uses to modify variables.
The only people affected by this are users that only know how to search for and change values. Someone with a working knowledge of assembly and debugging w/o debugging info would find this system inconvenient but not impossible to navigate.
This needs some form of source transpilation from code that can be understood by programmers to code that has an obfuscated control flow (and hope the optimizer doesn't reduce the obfuscation). _________________
I don't know where I'm going, but I'll figure it out when I get there.
Interesting take and its advantageous to just find this function but if they use this on every damn variable in the game like coordinates of each npc including the player along with ammo and and player and enemy health then it doesnot make sense.
Also I think they might pay a heavy price in frames per second if they use it for everything but its rockstar and they surprise us everytime on performance.
But just curious is there really no way to get the function address using just cheat engine? Somebody said we have to reverse the whole code to do anything.
