Cheat Engine

I am using a script for Fantasy Life i, and I am changing a value. Sometimes it works, but other times, when I change a value, it just freezes. It recognizes that I am hovering over "OK" and "Cancel" and it registers I am clicking them. But it does nothing. It does not close at all. My only option is to close Cheat Engine completely, but that means I have to close the game as well, because I can't activate any of the scripts if the CE table has been closed, but the game has not been closed.

I am very new to this forum, so let me know if I am doing anything wrong.
