cheat engine crashes when checking 'enable speedhack'

when checking the 'enable speedhack' box on Cheat Engine.exe, cheatengine-x86_64.exe, or cheatengine-x84_64-SSE4-AVX2.exe, cheat engine crashes, regardless of what process is selected. when checking the box on cheatengine-i386.exe, the program displays an error message box instead of crashing:

i've spent some time looking for solutions to this online but haven't found any solutions, so i decided to make an account here to post this. i'm using cheat engine 7.5 on windows 11. overriding exploit protection for the exes in the windows security menu hasn't worked so far. i don't play any competitive multiplayer games, so i don't think i have any anti-cheat software installed.

Does this happen with every game or just one, specific one?

Do you have the following files in CE directory?

speedhack-i386.dll
speedhack-x86_64.dll
