I'm using CE 7.5 and I've had this issue with a couple of games now:

Basically what's happening is I attach CE to the game, then over the next 10-20 minutes CE's memory usage will slowly climb up until it hits almost exactly 4gb of ram in the working set then it'll stop responding and crash.

It's not that the computer is running out of memory, at the time it crashes, I've still got 40+ gb of ram available.

One of the games that I have this issue with is Satisfactory, which used to be fine, and the other game is Ark: Survival Ascended, which I only started playing recently.

My guess is that the memory is being created by it loading the debug symbols as that is still working away at the time of the crash.

I don't recall this ever happening in any game before I updated to 7.5, but also satisfactory had an update since the crashing started so I dunno if it was just an upper threshold that I had never hit.

Any suggestions of how I can avoid/fix this?

go to settings debug and disable loading of pdb and debug symbols

also, make sure CE got properly installed.

Ok, so I did this and it fixed the issue, however it seems to have caused a new issue. When attaching cheat engine's debugger to a program, there seems to be a 50% chance that cheat engine soft-locks saying it's waiting for debugger to attach. Even pressing the "Cancel Wait" button doesn't fix this; after pressing the button, the "waiting" window closes but cheat engine remains uninteractable.

The reason I think the soft-locks were caused by this is because they never happened before, and have been happening a lot since
