so i used this (this was a link to where i got "Tactics Ogre Reborn Ver.1.04_Initial.CT" in case that would help) to make it so mobs drop everything (spent over an hour charioting for a supposedly 5% drop) to get the 6 shrine spells out of the way. not sure if i toggled enemies drop important items, or enemies drop all items (pretty sure the latter), but the change was applied to my save file itself. even rebooting my system entirely didnt remove it. i've tried toggling those options off and on to see if that would trip something and have it correct itself, but no. the 100% drop rates is now applied to my 200+ save, and it pretty much defeats the purpose of what is left in game for me to do.
so from a fresh reboot, without CE running, i still have the cheat applied. how do i remove it? or did i break my save?

Presuming all over the place here, but if the game stored a script edit in the save, then loading the save, activating the script, deactivating the script (and/or turning off the drop edits), and saving again should deactivate it.
If that doesn't work, create a new save, back it up. Load the save and activate the script. Save and close. Create a second backup. Compare the first backup and the second backup for differences. Hopefully one of them indicates the save state for the drop code which you can try restoring and loading the save. If it works, then apply the same type of edits to you active save.

that was my first thought, but it didnt work.
as to yer second suggestion, i have a second save from 10 hours or so earlier that is clean. but i am pretty noob when i comes to this, and have no idea how to compare the relevent data points. at this point would probably cost me less time to just use the the older save and redo those 10 hours

Use a hex editor and save the file as a text file. Then use any compare, where from the comandline, built into notepad++, or online to identify the differences.
If the save files are encrypted, then you may have to see if someone published a decoder and encoder for the game's save files.
