My experience in desktop Linux:
Install and run CE using wine.
For native Linux games, use ceserver. There's an aur package (ceserver-git), but be aware newer versions of ceserver might be incompatible with stable versions of CE. Run it as root when you need to. I can't imagine having this up all the time would be good for security. I made a systemd service and start / stop it as necessary.
For games run through proton, you could also use ceserver, but it's better to run CE in the specific proton's wine server instance. I use a script called protonhax to automate this, and I made a wrapper script to automate it even further.

The arch wiki is an absolutely vital source of information.

(if you run CE under proton through steam and can't find another game running under proton, steam might be using unique wine servers for each application)

Thanks the way i got was using SteamTinkerLauncher and enabling Cheat Engine option in it. Then you have to paste the tables and so in the virtual environment it creates for CE and the game.
I cant use DBK driver but i guess this is windows exclusive kernel ?

The way I use to install take a lot less then having to install Lutrus, Proton tricks find the prefix etc.
I got it to work but, its a little buggy because you have to go back into Game Mode in order for it to start up right.
It use to work in both Desktop and Game mode. For me right now it starts up Cheat Engine before the game and the game doesn't load until you close Cheat Engine but, in Game Mode it works like it should.
So the steps are:
Enabled Developer mode on the Deck settings.
Install ProtonUp QT to install Steam Tinker Launcher.
Install WINE only.
Install Cheat Engine.
Once they are installed set the game to use Steam Tinker Launcher.
Same step as setting up Steam Tinker Launcher custom command and fork command and find where you have Cheat Engine.exe file was installed.
That should work right of the box like it should in both Game Mode and Desktop Mode.
In my case I update my SSD to a 2TB SSD and move all my games to a 4TB External SSD (Moved before the upgrade). Which is why I think I had issue of finding the Cheat engine.exe in Steam Tinker Launcher.
Its really in this location:
/home/deck/.var/app/org.winehq.Wine/data/wine/drive_c/Program Files/Cheat Engine/
Once added, save and play button, that will make it save the setting and then I have to go into Game Mode to use it. Again that may only be because of the upgrade but, I tested with having a game locally on the internal SSD and external SSD and they both work but, I have to go into Game mode for it to start up right.
Hope that helps folks, if I find out what it is that stopping the game from running while in Desktop Mode I will post it.
