I followed a tutorial on using the pointer scanner to find offsets for values like health.

I pointer scan an address like 24885F789A9 but the results always point to the address before the one I searched, like 24885F789A8 instead.
Why does that happen?

Unaligned addresses are weird.

IIRC if you uncheck "Compressed pointerscan file" in the advanced options, it should point to the correct address.

Or manually adjust the final offset by +1 yourself.

Thanks changing that setting made it point to the right address.

I thought maybe that could have been messing up the scans but I think the game just doesn't work well with the pointer scanner.
