Cheat Engine

Hello,

I'm trying to attach my debugger by clicking the table and selecting "Find what accesses this address." Nothing happens. Upon looking into memview, and then the debug events, it is flooded with EXCEPTION_DEBUG_EVENT(1). When I look into the debugger itself, it is because there is an exception C000005 (EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION). I gave CE permissions to read/execute in the installation folder, but it still gives this error.

Any advice?

looks like rdi points to an invalid address

have you tried a different debugger interface in ce's settings?

I've tried VEH and windows, but nothing happened with either.

In settings enable the option to override existing breakpoints

The target process will likely crash, but you may get the address of an instruction.

You could also try page exception breakpoints

It's always been enabled, I manually set it in the debugger a couple times to break always instead of never.

Is there any other permission that I would need to enable? Or perhaps it could be that there is a hidden file somewhere that shouldn't be hidden? I've run it on my other computer and it works on the exact same game, but it doesn't work on this one. I've run the debugger on the working computer multiple times on different processes and they've worked, but it's never worked for this computer. I've tried different versions of Cheat Engine as well, but could it be something with installation?

the first thing i'd check would be the anti virus and other protection tools that might be instalked

is kerneldebug enabled in windows config ? (that tends to screw up debugging)
Does your whole system freeze when you press the printscreen button on your keyboard?

I've tried with antivirus disabled. How do I try kerneldebug?

My system doesn't freeze when I hit printscreen either

How would I test of it's because of kerneldebug?

I tried again today and had this before it popped up with the error access violation last location:413. What's the 413 mean?

Could it be something with my computer's default software?

if with default software you mean anti cheats and anti virus then yes.
maybe also if you're running and x86 emulator to run windows on your arm device and it didn't properly implement debugging, but that's highly unlikely

alternatively, your cpu has broken pins for debugging but i think windows would have bsod'd you already as it uses debugging internally to protect itself from tampering
