Critical rate could be in the player struct as one of the stats. Find strength, defence or something and look around for other values that look interesting.

Two ends to try would be finding the ID for a specific item, or just quantities, and scanning for it when it drops at the end of battle...
Or, assuming it's calculated then, find XP gained at the end of a battle and check upper functions that may correlate to the "end of battle" scenario, where you might be able to find the calls to dropped items, and manipulate them from there.
