|
|
I'm not very good with ida/olly so I use cheat engine to reverse game structures and there has always been 1 feature that would make a massive difference and that is to be able to check 2 structures for an exact value of each, for instance:
I put in the base address for item 1 and the base address for item 2
put in a value to find for item 1 and a value to find for item 2
supply the usual structure information like depth, size, compare type etc.
now it scans and whenever it find a match for target 1 and target 2 that have the same offsets it adds it to the list
Now, if such a thing already exists and I've missed it please let me know, otherwise this sort of feature would be substantial for mapping structures with long/complex pointer paths.

commonality scanner comes close but doesn't use a userinput value
you enter at least one address in group 1 and one in group 2
then let it scan and it returns all fields that have a different value
(and it follows pointers)
alternatively there is the structure spider but again not value specific. But if you know the address of your value you could add that as the destination address range (it also has a compare against option)

Yes I use those a lot, specifically Structure Spider, they both sadly have the same problem, when trying to find specific values, they give a massive amount of results of which I would have to go through by hand, even though I know exactly what each one should be ahead of time there is no way to compare them either during the scan or after.
I know even though it sounds simple to add a compare, it's a lot or work, so I'm not expecting you to go out of your way to work on it right now, just wanted to add it as a suggestion =P
