Hey everyone. I'm using cheat engine to try and modify the first person FOV value in RDR2. I've done scans for the float value and at max it returns a value of 54.99999619. The problem is I currently have about 25 addresses in my list that all do the same thing apparently. When aiming down the sights, the FOV decreases and all the values change accordingly.
But I can't change any of these values. They instantly revert back and when I tried using pointers, the value they returned was ??, so I think I screwed up there. These aren't static addresses (they didn't show up as green) and while I did another search for static addresses and added them to the table, these changes I made wouldn't stick either. However, these addresses didn't change when aiming down the sights but they do change when changing the in-game FOV slider in the settings menu. This makes me think this is the actual value I need to change since it's the value the game looks for when resetting to the default FOV.
I've tried both pointers (which I may have done wrong) and replacing addresses with code that does nothing, which all that did was either nothing at all or totally bugged out the screen.
There's a cheat engine .exe that does this already (can't post URLs yet, but look up RDR2 FOV mod on PCGamingWiki) but I don't like having to alt-tab out, open the program, and then use hotkeys to change it each and every time. I would rather have a script that automatically changes the FOV to a specific value every time the game starts.
