How do I cheat?

HI guys!
I playing with an RPG VX Ace game and I want to change a stat (Luck). I have an item what changes it but when I try to search in cheat engine I cannot find the value. I tried the "value*2+1" formula, the increased decreased thing. I even tried a custom type what i found here. But still 0 foundings. Usually I doesn't have an issue to cheat RPGM games but now I'm helpless. What can I do?

Have you tried altering the [value type]? There have been values in games I have wanted to change but couldn't find them because I was looking under 8 bytes when I should have been looking for 1 byte.
