Cheat Engine

I would think I could click on a byte, hold shift, then click on another byte and it'd select the entire range, but it does not. Is there a setting I can toggle to make this happen or another keyboard short cut that would act as a left click hold? As of now, I'm having to click and hold the first byte, use my scroll wheel while holding left click, while wiggling mouse so it updates selection as I'm scrolling. I primarily use the array of bytes technique, so I need to be able to select huge section of bytes for comparisons (more than will fit into a single view). Must be something I'm missing.
