(cant link to the guide, but its in the pointer tutorial section and is titled "Pointerscan how-to")
Im looking at this guide, but it is somewhat vauge. What im trying to do is find the address for a skill value, but the address changes everytime I load a save game. Pointer scan is supposed to help me find the address after it changes right?
Using cheat engine 6.8.3 :
So per the guide, I generated two pointermaps, OK. The guide says to "Open the pointerscan window,". Am I supposed to do this immediately after generating the 2nd pointermap? Or am I supposed to load the save game first to change the address?
Also how, exactly, am I supposed to open the pointerscan window? Am I supposed to right click the address and select "pointerscan for this address"?
I tried this :
-Generated two pointermaps after finding the address for the skill value
-Right click the 2nd pointermap address -> pointerscan for this address -> use saved pointermap (first pointermap) -> compare with 2nd pointermap -> OK
-I got 4 results that don't point towards the skill value.

in short:
find the address
generate pointermap
close game
open game find the address
do a pointerscan for that address with help of the previous pointermap

So what am i doing wrong?
>do a pointerscan for that address with help of the previous pointermap
At this part, I use the first saved pointermap, compare it with the second saved pointermap, but I dont get the correct addresses.
