I found that "enumerate dll and symbols" not working under dbvm mode. Below is my detailed environment:
1. OS: Windows 8 64-bit
2. Other details: I enabled all three options under the "Extra" tab in settings. (Without this I cannot get search results.)
3. Search function works OK. I am able to find address and modify value and verify the result.
4. I replaced all strings of "Cheat Engine" in CE binary (replacement is of same char length) with hex-editor and compiled my own dbvm driver.
Question: is there alternative way of getting module base address other than "enumerate dll and symbols"? I know the "dissect PE header" but it is not very helpful as well. (The value in the "prefered base address" is all question mark so likely it is not being used at runtime.)
I came to know there are winAPI which can be called if I write my own c++ code and compile/run it. Just curious whether there is any way WITHIN cheat-engine to call these winAPI programmatically.
