This is something new with 6.8.3, prior versions didn't have this little "quirk", I'm wondering what changed with 6.8.3 that causes this behavior.

Just to clarify I'm referring to this, run CE at XX time and the new modified time on the folder reflects that, as far as I can see nothing new is being created inside the folder that should update it.

Hey that worked! Thanks for answering such a dumb question.

Do you happen to know what functionality I'm missing out on with those files removed? Googled and it says some stuff about Debugging, but otherwise will CE work pretty much as expected with them removed?

And as always DB, keep up the excellent work!

with those files gone you wonxt be able to use symbol server searchpaths
in memview under file is an option to download and use symbols for the windows API which gives extra functions and addresses that might be useful in hooking and there is a lua function that also enables that
but if you have no need for that and no script you use uses it, itxll be fine if it's gone (or just download the symbols once and put in the symbol search path yourself)

Once again thanks, I'll keep those files in mind in case I need that functionality later down the road.
