I'm trying to use Cheatengine to create a trainer for fallout new vegas.

I've found the addresses for verious values i want to be able to alter (money and ammo). The locations are not fixed so i have to find them each time i run the game. when i try to use the "find out what writes to this address" like advised in the tutorial nothing comes back in the debugger when i change the value in cheatengine and the game crashes out when i alter the value in game (shoot or buy sometheing)

this is my first attempt at making a trainer so sorry if the terminology is incorrect or its somethign really simple im doing wrong

If You use 32-bit op system, try to use the "kernelmode debugger". (Settings->Extra)

Additional options that may solve Your issue:
Try to prevent detection of the debugger
Handle breakpoints not caused by CE
Use Global debug routines

well it no longer crashes

however its still not able to find the new location for the ammo/caps when i restart the game.

Try to include scanning the "mapped memory" under options i believe. It is slow and often useless i think it actually worked on fallout 3 and NW is based on the same engine

Still not able to get the code table to be valid when i reload the game tho. i use the replace with code that does nothing option on the info the debugger brings back, is that correct?

No, you need to learn how to use pointers (Step 5,6,7 i think in the tut), as well as a section on this site.

hey i been using cheat engine on starcraft remastered about a week ago i only use it on the minarels and gas remorse but it keeps crashing but it never use too i use 64-bit on windows
