Sorry if this has already been mentioned or requested. But has anyone given thought to incorporation either on the pc side or the android side. A Wi-Fi hotspot to bypass the router all together. If the hotspot is sent by a wired laptop. It could even be used to sniff and edit the packers being sent to and from the game. Adding a whole new dimension to cheatengine.

you can use an adb usb connection for communication

as for packet filtering, mostly not worth it. any self respecting developer will use encryption (and not just ssl )
