Hi,

Long-time user of Cheat Engine, but fairly new to doing things when running games in DOSBOX.

So I load my DOSBOX, start my game, and select the DOSBOX process in DOSBOX. The game of choice is Into The Eagle's Nest.

I've been trying a lot of suggestions to get things to work, but so far failed. When starting, it'll have ammo set to 99, so that's the value I attempt to look for.

I tried using the decimal and hex version of 99. I tried scanning using 1 byte, 2 bytes, 4 bytes and ALL settings. It will find the 99, but when I shoot once in the game and look for any values that changed to 98 (or the hex version of it), it simply comes up blank.

Would someone be able to supply some pointers on how to proceed? I consider myself fairly computer literate, but this stuff for some reason seems to be beyond me, lol.

Thanks in advance.

It's simple:
-) search in decimal for byte
-) instead to search for 99 97 94 etc. you have to search for: 9 7 4 etc...

You da man. That worked nicely.

How does one generally figure out what to look for? Some times you use the decimal, sometimes you multiply by 8, etc.

How would you figure out which pattern to focus on?
