Hello, I'm new to the forum.

I've been trying to use Cheat engine for a while now and there's still a lot I don't really grasp entirely, but I'm more than willing to learn.

That said, I've been having some trouble while trying to bypass some apparent anti-cheat measures on Resident Evil 2 Remake. I was able to find the dynamic adress for the ammo in my gun's clip but I can't seem to be able to debug it in order to find the pointer/dynamic adress related to it (So I don't have to scan it everytime I restart the game).

The exact problem is: The game itself crashes whenever I try to run "Find out what acceses/writes to this adress". I was able to bypass that by unchecking the option "Override existing breakpoints when setting breakpoints" setting, but then a different problem rises: Nothing shows up when I try to find out what writes/acesses. I've dug some posts on the forum but none seem to solve this problem specifically, nor was I able to understand most of what was being said in those posts (Heck, I don't even know what threads are).

Long story short: I can't seem to find the dynamic adress, even though I know how it's 'supposed' to work. What can I do to bypass the anti-cheat measure and properly debug adresses in the game? If anyone could explain why everything behaves as it do, that would also be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Try page exception breakpoints
Or if you have an intel activate DBVM and use the DBVM find what accesses/writes option

And if all else fails you can always try pointerscan

Hello darkbyte. First of all, thank you for your help.

I'm not sure what you mean by page exception breakpoints. Is that an option in the settings?
DBVM find also didn't work, I was able to find an opcode instruction at the first try, but when searching for the next adress both I found return nothing.

The pointerscan did return some solid results, and I think I can work with them.

EDIT: Made it to work. No reload script working just fine. Thank you so much!
