Hi everyone

I am currently trying to access different data from the game FTL : Faster Than Light (steam version 1.5.13).

I found dozens of them, by scanning multiple times until I find where the data is stored, and then by looking at what access this storage, step by step find the static address and the chain of offsets which leads to the stored data.

However, as you can see in the screenshot I'll upload with this post, for some data, there is NOTHING which access the stored data. Impossible to track back the static address. I am really confused.

Please enlight me !

You can try learning backtracing method...

Real address of percentage of charge of the 1st weapon: [[[[FTLGame.exe+39BAA4]+20]]+150]+8

According to the image , you should scan for EBX=0CF876A8 because of this instruction :

I had a look at backtracing method, but so far I didn't understand the methodology... Even in your screen, I see neither "EBX", nor the hexadecimal value 0CF876A8, so I really wonder how do you guess it's this one.

Also, for the address you gave me... FTLGame.exe+39BAA4 is definitely a good begining, as several other values begin with this one. However, the full address you gave me doesn't lead to the expected value. I tried to move a little each offset, in case you made a typo, but didn't find it.

I am going back to trying to learn backtracing. I'd be grateful if you could give me some hints about the issues I mentionned !
