So I've been trying to get this to work using '2 bytes' as value type (even tried 1 byte too), but for some reason I can't find ANYTHING. I remember reading something here on the forums that it's supposed to be really easy after setting it to 2 bytes, but so far I've had zero luck with it. Has anyone gotten this to work properly that can help me out with this a bit?

Have you changed your scan settings for MEM_MAPPED?

I personally use snesgt and have never had any problems. You could try that. Aside from your mem_mapped settings and scanning for byte/2 byte, just try increased/decreased or changed/unchanged in the event that your actual values are not representative of their display values.
