Hi,
I was wondering how hard would it be for someone without much C/C++ knowledge to get CE to compile on Linux?

I understand that you can run CEserver and CE through WINE, but I think that native linux app would be even more awesome.

Is there any interest from you to release native CE for linux?

I'd love to be able to just use my OS repos one day to install this awesome piece of software.

Cheat Engine is written in mostly Delphi, with some parts written in C/C++.
So you are going to need knowledge in all three languages.

Cheat Engine is heavily written around Win32 API as well so you are going to have to rewrite large portions of its code to counter the way it's written.

Linux's architecture makes it hard to do things you easily can under Windows. It's not impossible but not convenient for the average user.

I think that's the sole reason there is no CE for linux, the simplest things are hard to do.

just rip out newkernelhandler and replace with with a linux api substitute, it's how the mac version works

ceserver may give a clue on some of those implementations.

The sole reason for no ce on linux is mostly because there are not many games, or those that are there already are hacked beyond recognition
