				| Sites to look at and avoid? I mean /fit/ is always cancerous. It's hard to get straight answers out of anyone over there. Misc is pretty much the same anymore too.
What all are you looking for? Are you looking to build muscle? Lose weight? 'Tone'? I can probably help with a lot of that information and cite everything that I used to come to my conclusions. Anymore I don't frequent many sites. I have routines and diets that work great for me and I go off those.

To put some information down to possibly answer questions:
If you want to gain muscle, start lifting.
If you want to lose weight, eat less and exercise.
If you want to 'tone', do both of the above.

Just a list of sites that I use though:

 https://examine.com/ - For supplement research
http://www.bodybuilding.com/ - General knowledge (I take a lot of this with a grain of salt. They are paid to promote things. Keep that in mind.)
https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/ - More general knowledge (some really good people here. Solid starting advice. I just lurk, I don't contribute)
http://forums.steroid.com/ - Advanced stuff. It's not just for steroids, they have a lot of info for extreme fine tuning lifts/diets. Most people don't really need this.

Simply put, start off slow. You don't need a 5 day split. You don't need to go out and only eat chicken, fish, and rice. Just eat less shitty foods. If you want any more info, PM me. I'll gladly help you out in any way I can.

				| Thanks a lot for responding, yup, you're the guy.
The internet has a lot of mixed opinions about some heated topics, like:

 Cardio first or weights?

I'm looking to lose weight, I gained about 13.5 kgs while I was in high school and it's really noticeable, people see it. I started working out three days ago, doing cardio at 85% of my HR (and have lost a kilogram since)

There are lots of books that go "Cardio sucks" or otherwise claim cardio is ineffective for weight loss, I'm 90% sure they're only doing that to sell their books but I'm able to pirate those books from the deepweb anyway, so are they worth my time reading?

Cardio is great. If you're looking to do weight loss, why not build some muscle while doing it? Especially if you're going to be in a gym too.

Personally I do cardio after a workout. If I do it before working out I feel exhausted before I can get those last few golden reps out. I will coincide my cardio with muscle groups I hit previously in the week though. I.E. if I'm going to be doing legs tomorrow, I don't like to go on a run or ride a bike. I'd much rather hit the row machine or some other form to get my heart racing. As well, I don't hit the same muscles I did that day with my cardio. I can't get my heart going nearly as hard if my muscles refuse to do what I want them to. So again, I don't go on a run after leg day. I'll do it the day after.

If you aren't looking to build a lot of muscle, then go for cardio before a workout. Do some low-intensity lifting afterward and keep your heart rate going the whole time.

As far as cardio sucking for weight loss, I've always been a fan of it. If I need to cut bf a few percent I'll cut my diet down by about 300cals and run a lot more. Cardio does not actually kill gains. Just eat appropriately and you won't have the issues.

The number one killer in not seeing results (as far as weight loss) is diet. Diet is supreme before working out IMO. Now I know I said I don't like the whole counting calories BS before, but it is good to know a baseline of what you SHOULD eat in a day to lose weight. There are plenty of ways to do this, but I do it the easy way. Take your weight ( in lbs because Merica) and multiply it by 15. There's your 'BMR'. Add 500-1000 to gain weight, subtract 500-1000 to lose weight. This is very rough, but it's worked great for me thus far.

That first kilogram is just the start. It's amazingly easy to lose weight if you have the right mindset. I'm currently training a female friend of mine who is completely convinced she can't lose weight. It's not because her workout isn't cutting it, it's because she just can't diet. She eats too much and won't admit it.

On top of that, don't hop on the scale every day. It's great at first because you will see all this weight loss in numbers, but you will eventually hit a point where you stop. It will happen every time and if you see it in front of your face every day, you will lose hope. I weigh myself once every two weeks. From there I adjust my diet according to the new weight as well as my workout.

Realistically you can expect to drop 1-2kg a week for the next couple of weeks. That's just your body wanting to dump any glycogen stores it has ASAP so it can keep your fat stores. After that comes the climb upwards and you hit that 'wall' at first. That's why I don't suggest a scale. But once you start making progress after that is when you see the difference. At the end of the day it's not the number on the scale that makes you happier, it's the reflection in the mirror. You want to be visibly different.

Shoot me a list of what you're doing for your workout and what you typically eat in a week. I'll see what I can work up for you. I've got some free time this week so I can probably get something pretty decent going for you.

				| stronglifts 5x5 30mins cardio afterwards, light cardio on off days (why not try dancing for fun)
use common sense to eat, incorporate more seafood and more healthy fats/oils, avoid sugary drinks, coffee is good.

this is time efficient, you will be able to eat more than the average person and still look and be more physically fit than them, but you wont get hueg, so youll focus on dense muscle.
