Cheat Engine

Greetings,

I am working on cracking StarCraft II but the game has a vicious anti-debugger. It immediately crashes whenever an debugger is attached.

I have tried using Olly to disable some key windows functions that might alert it to a debugger's presence, but that does not work.

My goal is to use cheat engine to hack the game -- I just need to use whatever means necessary to disable the debugging first, whether that is through using Olly or something else.

Suggestions?

Switch debugger, windows debugger will crash with (most of)steam games[/quote]

I was unclear -- I've tried every debugger on the market, with every available option. They all crash the game. I need to reverse it to jmp over the call that checks for a debugger. How do I do this? Can someone demonstrate?

Get olly v1, use the stealth plugins.

You might need 32bit version of windows, for some reason olly diudnt work on 64bit for me ages ago...dont remember why now.

Sadly I can't PM him yet (not enough rep i guess?) and I can't contact him on his website.

Which olly plugins are you referring to? I've already tried all the stealth plugins I could find; none have been successful.

I don't remember the exact one anymore, it was back in 2008/10 when i was interested in MUP(manual unpacking) and had to hide from nasty protectors like execryptor/armadillo etc. I am looking into plugins dir of my different olly versions and i can see PhantOm, HideDebugger, ollyadvanced, HideOD...probably one of these plugins. Alternatively, get one of the olly versions that's modified by scene groups, one of these worked really well

I'll direct Sunbeam to this thread, sb was able to attach with CE so its probably something simple.
