Is there a way to find the value/boolean that determines if the player is fishing or not in Terraria? I have no idea where to start.
One idea I had was to scan for a false value, start fishing, and rescan for a true value, but nothing came back that was useful.

I did a search for values while fishing/not fishing and turned up about 75 values by searching unknown, and then changed/unchanged searches to narrow it down. Then swapped out all the 1's and 0's till i saw something visual happen.
the value you are looking for is a 4 byte value that switches to 1 when fishing and 0 when not fishing. watch out though because it isnt that consistent if you just switch the value for 1 to 0 or vice versa.
good luck!

I did that initially and it crashed my cheat engine, but retrying it today provided me 3 addresses that consistently correlated with casting the bobber Thank you.
The only problem right now, is that the addresses change every game instance. Is there a way to get a static address for these values?
Additionally I found the addresses for detecting when the bobber is bobbing by detecting for 0 while the bobber was down and whenever the bobber was bobbing I rescanned for a value greater than 0. Rinse repeat gave addresses that consistently changed when it was bobbing.

| Alternatively, you can grab the instruction that accesses your address instead. Make an AoB script for it.
