ok so i've gone through a bunch of the tutorials on youtube for finding pointers
and i've been able to do it just fine in other games but i cant seem to get anything
in Devilian to work!

so i've searched for my health, when i find it i start going through the process of
finding the base address. i get 1 offset in and then after that i get nothing.
next i used the pointer scanner.. that found pointers that gave me my health so i
restarted the game and got back on my character.. the pointer i found was still working.

so i thought i solved my issue.. well i changed characters and it all went to crap after that

the pointer i had that gave my health on the first character stopped working.
i am extremely confused as to whats going on with this game

some side notes the game is installed through steam it also seems to be using
scaleform for its interface (dont know if that has any effect on this)
any changes i make to my health dont show up even visually in game.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Does the address you find have an actual (if not visual) change to your stats?

no. thats my point, everything i try doesnt have any effect..
not even to the text i see on screen.. except for one address
that i've found and thats my max experience (just found that
out btw) but i still cant seem to find a base pointer to use for
it either...(probably could use more testing though).. i'm about
to use auto it to make my bot (...depressing...)

Does unknown initial value and then searching only increased/decreased/change/unchanged (for both 4-byte, float, and double) get anything?

ok so i've attached a screenshot of what i've been looking.. i'm trying to figure
out how i can use this function to give me the information that i'm looking for
as i know that the register holds the value

Select the line of code and hit F5 to set a breakpoint on it, the next time that instruction is run the game will pause. At that point hit F5 again to remove the breakpoint, then hit F9 to resume the game. To the right of the code will be a new panel showing the contents of the registers and such at the time of execution.

Though since that appears to be shared code, dealing with it will be annoying.
