failure reverting windows update changes and other annoying hangs when starting my tower. google "windows 7 update boot loop" and you should find descriptions of the problem i'm encountering. not sure how to fix it. there's about a 1 in 12 chance of the computer bypassing the boot loop and working.

Disconnect from the internet (unplug the cable) and then try. Worked for me when this error happened (ages ago)

Computer bypassed the boot loop (hence how I posted), but this morning the power went out. Trying without internet does nothing; do you remember how you fixed it after? I've tried deleting the update files, Microsoft fix it, etc.
