Came back from festival and 8 days of drinking/eating kebabs/eating cookies

I've completely dropped micromanaging my diet. I eat when I get hungry and stop eating(sometimes mid meal) as soon as I feel full. I drink all 0 calorie drinks and only have a protein shake or something if I couldn't get all my protein with food.

It's been the best. I feel much much better just in day to day life and I'm having really good progress.

In a way it is, but it has the benefit of basically guaranteeing results. If I micromanage I know what weight I'll be 10 weeks from now +- 2 lbs. What I'm doing right now, some weeks I'm up a lb, some weeks I'm down one, I had one week where I had gone up almost 3 lbs.

What I usually do is at the start of a bulk I count all cals, and then I moreless know which meals have around how many calories. Then I stop counting and know moreless how many cals are in my typical meals so I can eat 200 kcal +/- around my target erryday

Is there truly a need to count every calorie when you're on your bulk? I understand you'd want the proper macro's in terms of carbs and protein, but that doesn't require you to count everything. You can make an estimation based on what you eat. The only time I ever find necessity in counting calories is during a cut.

That said, I hate the term "intuitive eating".

Hate the term too which is why I don't use it. I still make sure I hit 150g of protein and am eating at least 2k cals(my maintenance is 3k) but I have started to drop things in the middle of a meal if I feel full and that's really helped the recomp so far.

As far as counting cals on a bulk, take my advice on this one, do it absolutely. I fucked up way bad by miscounting off the top of my head or trying to put on more than I should. I just got fat which is the reason for this long ass recomp I'm doing.



On the left was 10 weeks ago after finishing a "off the top of my head" kind of bulk. On the right is 5 weeks ago. I have curent pics in that other thread I put up.
