Cheat Engine

So I'm trying to find the value that stores the player's item type in the first inventory slot in hopes of changing, creating, or duplicating items, instead of relying on the game's random system to get multiple of the same item.

My process so far has been painfully basic (As I'm still a beginner). Starting with Unknown initial and All type, then dropping the item and scanning for has changed, then scanning for unchanged a bunch to get rid of the constantly moving jibberish. Picking up a second, different item and so on... I can only get it down to about 500 or so entries and manually looking through them, none of them seem correct or even relevant.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, as I'm totally at a loss as to where to go from here.

in the escapists root folder there is an items.dat, once you open that you should see all items listed that are in the game. every item has a number and no item = -1 you can find it that way using cheat engine. but i dont know how to change the values...
