Hi,

I am using CE 6.4. A table I've been working on seems to have suddenly died on me. It gives a "this is not a valid cheat table" message. It was working fine yesterday, and all my other tables are working.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Many Thanks.

only use cheat engine or a proper xml editor when working on cheat tables.
notepad and related won't work properly as they don't deal with thing like < > & / etc...

anyhow, check line 40909 and see if you can find the problem there

Thanks for the quick reply. I havent used anything else to edit my cheat tables. How do I open the CT file to find out the character on that line? In notepad?

Thanks

EDIT:

Ok, So I opened it and had a look at the xml. There was a '/' missing and an additional 'r'. It was in the structs I had been looking through. Incase you are interested this was the problematic line:

<Element Offset="240" Vartype="Pointer" Bytesize="8" DisplayMethod="Unsigned Integer" BackgroundColor="80000005">
r<Structure Name="Autocreated from C18ED100" AutoFill="0" AutoCreate="1" DefaultHex="0" AutoDestroy="0" DoNotSaveLocal="0" AutoCreateStructsize="4096">
<Elements>

After fixing this it gave another error. Something along the lines of 'Unexpected Element tag'

I couldnt see anything wrong, So I decided just to remove the whole section dealing with structs and it seems to be working now.

Just to let you know I hadnt used any other software to edit these files apart from CE. So I'm not sure what happened to cause the problem initially.

Many thanks for your help Dark Byte, You are ever so Kind Very Happy
