I've had Cheat Engine for a long while. I love it, it's a good program, fun to play around with and I often spend hours fiddling with the bits of code I'm able to dig up using it. It installs painlessly on any machine I use, it's easy to attach it to a program, and it is almost intuitive in application.

For 6.3, at least.

I don't know why (as 6.4 should be more stable than 6.3) but for some reason 6.4 is causing me an endless amount of trouble. It can't overwrite files with admin access for installation, it cannot add anything to the registry unless I run my machine in safe mode, and if I finally manage to get it installed, it cannot access my programs. It can 'see' them, in that I can attach it to a program like normal, but no amount of searching will ever reveal an entry.

I really only want to update to 6.4 for the cheat table that was made for Dragon Age Inquisition, which does not register as a valid table for 6.3 (It loads into my faulty 6.4 just fine, except it becomes useless as 6.4 can't touch any addresses)

Until then I can just use 6.3, it still serves wonderfully, but I'd love to be able to use that table. I haven't been able to find any answers through searching, so I had to post here to ask. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

no idea, you've accidentally configured windows to run the cheat engine 6.4 .exe in compatibility mode?

you forgot to add 6.4 to your av's/security ignore filter?

It has not been running in compatibility mode, and I had my av entirely disabled while attempting to install/run 6.4.

I'm not sure what else I can do.
