I'm trying to change the camera position for the PS2 racing game Enthusia. I've done a couple of basic widescreen hacks before, so am comfortable with the basic usage of CE.
To start, I'm trying to increase the height of the camera view. My approach is to search for an unknown value, which changes as I toggle the game between in-car and chase views.
I've found an address with a byte that I can freeze and increase by 1 to get the view I want. However, the value keeps getting overwritten, so the game flickers between camera positions. I understand that this means I've got the "wrong" address. I've tried seeing what addresses access/write to the address, but I can't find a working pointer (at least, it's not a straightforward as tutorial examples tend to be!).
So can anyone help with my next step? Can I use the address I've found to trace back to the right address? Should I change my overall approach?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm fairly new to using this sort of method myself, but try a "Find out what writes to this" search. If there is a mov instruction, create a script that sends the amount you want into the register/address. That should cease the flickering if there aren't multiple checks for the view angle.

I just wanted to say thanks for the reply. I tried replacing the address writing to the camera value with a NOP. While this fixed the camera angle, it caused side effects (the car flew up the air when accelerating!!)
Anyway, after many hours more searching (and being a bit more creative about my searching technique), I have found 3 of the 4 proper addresses that I was searching for. It's an addictive mixture of frustration and elation - I'm hooked!
