How do I cheat?

I'm trying to extend, or stop, but preferably just extend, the game timer for C&C 4 Tiberian Twilight to more than just 1.5 hours. I located the address that renders the clock on the in-game GUI, but not the actual timer itself (that's considered the dynamic base, right?) and I'm having a hard time trying to locate it. Can someone please tell me the right way to go about finding it? And is a script necessary to make and lock this change or can I just edit the value in the appropriate address?
