Cheat Engine

Hello everyone.

I'm having a little problem with Cheat Engine.
Whenever I use the speedhack to slow a game down, the game starts to lag and fails to read a lot of inputs.
I tried the exact same thing on a different (a lot worse) computer and didn't have any problems at all.
Using older versions of CE results in the same lag.
Since I don't know anything about CE and its functions I didn't try to change anything. Is there anything I could do to avoid that lag? Has anyone ever had the same problem?

I googled for a while and didn't find anything that helped me, so I'm sorry if this has been asked already.

I already am on the lowest settings.
I feel disabling vsync decreased the amount of dropped inputs a little, doesn't help too much, though.

Is there a difference between the keyboard/mouse on one system compared to the other ? Perhaps one keeps sending the input longer so that the game has a higher chance to pick it up?

e.g that might cause a problem when the game uses polling to read input instead of constantly checking

Hmm, does the game have special options like hardware mouse support or something similar?

I tried both controller and keyboard on both systems.
On the older computer both work perfectly fine, on the newer one I got the problems with both.

The game doesn't have any hardware-options apart from controller-support.
