Cheat Engine

Hey all,
I'm having fun finding the pointers to various values in Europa Universalis.

I managed to find the pointer used by prestige and i can successfully use it to max the soft cap of prestige (100000). Usually i am able to freeze this value and set it much higher (4 bytes).

But the game will start to reset this to 100000 again after a while, it will then continue to do so every ingame month.

What can cause this behaviour? Why isn't the "freeze" feature picking up on the change (i suppose what it does is monitor the value and keep setting it back to the prev value?)

rebooting cheat engine fixes the problem. So it's probably to do with the freeze option in CE more than the game

If you want people to help diagnose the behavior of your table, why not upload your table?

There is a bug in Cheat Engine (hit or miss) that causes CE to sit idle after a certain amount of time. A workaround, in lieu of restarting CE, is to just change your update/freeze interval in settings and click okay. You do not have to retain the new settings.
