Cheat Engine

Just downloaded Cheat Engine. Problem arises in step 2 of tutorial. When I type in 100 and search, I get many hits. I then clicked "Hit Me" and entered the new value and clicked "Next Scan" and it came up empty. The only way I can get any hits on the new value is to click "New Scan" then "First Scan". What gives?

Be sure you are attaching to the correct process and that your CE settings have not changed from their default settings.

I did not change any settings and can not find any defaults.

I opened 00000504-cheatengine-x86_64.exe then Tutorial-x86_64.exe.

My computer runs on windows 7 Home Premium and is a 64-bit Operating system.

I tried again, but with the same results.

maybe you are searching the wrong value type i think step 2 is a 4byte

Take a screenshot of your cheat engine after the first scan and post a link to the image.

It should be working. The only thing I see that my be off is that the target process is not displaying the process ID for some reason. Be sure to run CE as Admin.

I just clicked on the process tab and selected the tutorial. when I tried to first scan again, I got an error message "scan error:thread1:access violation".

I am the only account on this computer and am administrator

You must doubleclick the processname in the list, or select it and click ok. Don't open the file
If you see an open file dialog, you've gone the wrong way
