I figured to go about making a pointer for Cheat Engine itself, involving the Scan Tabs.
Related Info Involving This Post:
In Windows 8, there's this registry key for ScreenshotIndex, which increments by 1 every time you press WinKey+PrintScreen, and its value is one above your last screenshot.
For example, you take 5 screenshots. ScreenshotIndex will say 6.
For those interested, that key is located at: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer.
You need to create at least one screenshot for the key to appear.
Anyway, back to CE.
Whenever you create scan tabs, it does the same thing: one after.
Create a tab, for a total of 2.
Start another instance of CE, attach the earlier instance to it.
Just like with games, find the value of 3, create a tab in the first instance, scan for 4... you should end up with just 2 entries. Choose the second entry, add to the codelist, edit it to some low number (10, for example), add another tab to previous: should say "Scan 10".
Noting the address you selected, for future usage, we need a pointer. After the usual one-step pointer stuff, a list of over 4000 entries came around: I was able to find one read-only entry. The pointer worked.
Said table has been uploaded for you all using the 64-bit version of CE 6.3. It BETTER work for you others!
Now, Dark Byte, you should get the tabs to disappear when there's only one tab. Currently when one tab is used, the tab bar doesn't disappear. That's my request for Cheat Engine 6.4: to make it go away.
