How do I cheat?

Hello everyone. I've been trying to hack memory addresses within DosBox to some success. The game 'One Must Fall' for adding money was actually really easy, however I'm finding that hacking the old Ultima games has got me stumped.

Mostly what I'm wanting to hack is:

food (that runs out too quick)
Gold
XP
... and maybe hitpoints.

I'm not asking for someone to hold my hand here because I may be a noob at this but really want to learn methods so I can fend for myself. If anyone on here has any experience with Ultima V, could you point me in the right direction? Thank you very much in advanced. Smile

Try 2 or 1 byte scans

Thank you. For some reason I didn't think about that and just tried it. It worked for food. I'll try out the other values. Smile
