Hi guys,
I need help with emulator Dolphin and the game Super Mario Sunshine. I wanted to find the timer value (3 minutes timer) on a level 6, before the end of the game (necessary to reach the final's game, not secondary), but I wasn't be able, so I tried EVERYTHING.
My specifications:
Super Mario Sunshine PAL ISO (GMSP01)
Windows 10 version 2004 (20h1) x64 Pro
Dolphin v5.0-12121
Cheat Engine 7.1 (64 bit, SSE4-AVX2)
With Scan settings:
MEM_MAPPED activated
with new custom data type "2 byte big endian" and "4 byte big endian".
With debugger method: windows debugger and VEH debugger (I don't know what changes this in searches)
Types of data that I have tried to search and search methods:
-byte (increased or decreased)
-2 byte / 2 byte big endian (increased or decreased)
-4 byte / 4 byte big endian (increased or decreased)
-Float (increased or decreased)
-Double (increased or decreased)
Nothing returns satisfactory results. Only values that have nothing to do with the stopwatch and time and make the game crash if you freeze them.
I feel helpless and it makes me angry. It is not the first "rebellious" game that refuses to find its variables. It is as if they obfuscate the code on purpose.
Either I do something wrong, or I am missing information about the Cheat engine (something as secret as MEM_MAPPED or big endian, or that it is not said how to deal with emulators) or it is simply IMPOSSIBLE.
But for learning reasons and to stay dedicated to this, I need to know where the problem is, if anyone has the solution, please tell me.
I'm waiting for your replys. Thanks.
