I have never seen any software that can do what i am about to describe, however, I cannot say that one doesn't already exist. If it does, then my apologies for this post. Without further adieu, here is my idea.
A "memory cheat tool" like CE that can search for values in a file. Think hex editor and cheat engine having a baby. Think Zsnes save states to help you understand. you have full health. save state. do search. get hit. save state. search again. but instead of searching the memory, it searchs the file instead of memory.
Now some of you will say, "Why? find it in memory!" But i like to hack save states. and the ability to search them repeatedly and comparitively would just make my day...

You can already do that with cheat engine.
In the processlist click on "Open File" (or just file->open file)
And then do a first scan.
Then open another savefile, and do a next scan with the scanoption you like (decreased/ increased etc...)
The problem is that a lot of savestates these days get compressed, causing one byte change to change all others

That's Dark Byte, he's the developer.
He's indeed great and we appreciate him very much .
Being an open-source project you can get the code in the download page.
However the primary language isn't very common; It's Delphi which I don't really get why (unless it's just for the comfort of the programmer).
Dark Byte, feel free to answer.

No, i hadn't ever heard of FlexHex until you mentioned. Thank you for the information. I will look into it.
I am mostly looking into creating my own Save state editors.
Incedentally, Hex Workshop also has a file compare tool. I use it fairly regularly in matters such as this.
