Hey there, I'm new to using cheat engine and I was wondering how I could change names in game and then have them save, so I don't need to change them every time I re-load the game. I know about using strings , but every time I try and and save it and then load it again, it doesn't seem to work.
I'm very new to cheat engine and any links to youtube videos, or threads which already discuss this would be very helpful.
Thanks

Depends on what the strings are. If the game never saves them, then it never saves them and you'll need to edit either the game's save files or the game's program/resource files in order to make the changes permanent.
Which is kinda' outside CE's scope.

I mean when you change text using cheat engine, ie someones name, I was wondering is there anyway I could use cheat engine to do it permanently ? I know how to do it everytime I load cheat engine, but I want a way that doesn't mean having to change everyone's name everytime I load the game.
Thanks for the reply Rydian.

That's what I'm talking about.
Cheat Engine changes values in RAM. Games read from their saved program data into RAM when they load. This game is not saving the changes (because it's likely they were never intended to be changed anyways so nobody on the coding team bothered to make them save), so every time it starts up it goes back to the default names because it's starting up fresh by reading the program data on your harddrive.
So you'll need to modify the program's files, as in the actual .exe or installed resource files yourself... and that's a little outside of CE's scope.
