|
|
I bought an AT&T GS3 just under a month ago, and to get right to the point the battery is absolute shit. Sometimes it's fine and goes down slowly, but the majority of the time it goes down ridiculously fast, like 1% every five minutes or less while it's sitting in my pocket not doing anything. I have all the power saving options on and I leave WiFi, mobile data, sync, etc. all turned off.
Could it possibly be a defective battery? It almost always says that the Android System is using the most battery, usually between 45-60%. I plan on rooting it, but I still have this on warranty and I figure that I should probably resolve this battery issue before I do, or if potentially rooting it will resolve the issue.

I have the same phone and the battery life is amazing. A full charge lasts me two days all most. I suggest getting a new battery or since its under warranty maybe they will give you a new a battery.

It's either the battery is leaking power, you have the screen light on VERY bright all the time, or ID101 error with not charging before first use. If it's the first or last reason, then you REALLY need to get a new battery.
Also, try charging overnight, even if there is full battery. It gives my tablet a whole day of battery power.

I charge it every night, and lots of times during the day because it runs out in 8-10 hours.
I guess I gotta take it in.

I had similar problems like you, however I was charging the Samsung Galaxy S3 via a USB charger and not via the power point. This would cause my Galaxy S3 to die from a full charge in around 8 hours. Not good.
The battery life on the S3 is brilliant, make sure you dont have alot of apps running in the background, so double-check the task bar.

Ask for a new battery, root your phone, install a new ROM, wipe battery stats, then do a full charge on the battery and then see how long that lasts

I went to the AT&T store and the when I told the dude that my batter lasts 7-8 hours sitting in my pocket, he was like "Yeah, isn't that normal?"
No it's not fucking normal. Why the fuck would someone make a cell phone that last 8 hours untouched? Either way, they're mailing me a new one. And yeah Daniel, that's the plan.

If that doesn't work, get a brand new phone, maybe you should try one of the big batteries, like a hyperion 4200 mah battery (make sure its NFC compatible)
