In a small mmorpg, 2.D, I scanned and found the codes to make my
hp the amount I want, And when i change, it shows in the game that my hp is now 1000000000. w.e,
but I would still die by monsters as if i have my normal hp, andthe hack hp is just display...

what is wrong, is it server sided?

It's an MMORPG, so there is a 99.9% chance it will be server sided. In your case, yes it is.
