Are ARMv6 phones too slow for this feature? I've been wanting to try this out, but there's only support for the ARMv7 architecture. I tried setting it up and everything seemed alright except the scanning speed-- it's too slow and when left too long, it eventually disconnects (so I assume it's incompatible).

Is an ARMv6 processor @ 650MHZ just out of the question for CE scanning over a LAN?

Well, it's recommended that the system supports at least a 1GBit network connection (Faster is prefered...)
But it of course depends on the size of the rom and libraries loaded in the system (less than 1MB is doable on a slow connection like wifi)

Also, I don't have much experience with socket networking so I am probably doing a few things wrong

a few tips: On the client (cheatengine exe) set the cpu affinity to only 1 cpu and change the scan buffer from 512kb to 4KB
That reduces the chunksize and number of threads that make a connection (that it disconnects is normal, each scan thread makes it's own connection and when done with it's part, terminates, and closes the connection)

Hmm, then perhaps it's my wireless network that's unreliable. I'll have to experiment with reverse tethering to see if I can try scanning while wired. Nevertheless, it's fascinating to see that something like this is actually possible on an Android phone-- I never really knew about CE's network feature until recently.
