|
|
Well,
i'm playing a game and trying to find the X-Coordinate Pointer(Position)
So, i found the adress from the X-Coordinate [Float]
Now im trying to find the pointer..
I right click on it, find what writes to this adress, and theres an Adress with Offset 164.
Now im typing the adress into
HEX-4bytes
But it didnt find anything..
Whats the problem :S?

tip, use find what accesses instead of writes when finding pointers
As for why you can't find anything. It could be that thee is a calculation done on one of the registers being used before the write. (e.g a function call right in front of it that sets eax to a specific pointer)

NEVER believe or use the "probably" address ce gives you.
As you stated in the first post you have an offset of 164, so you already know the important thing
You must do a hexadecimal scan for 25715c4-164

click start type in calc execute windows calculator.
if you have win xp > (Windows logo)+R > type in "calc" and hit enter.
click view and hit programmer, see the radio buttons ? click the one that says HEX, now do the calculation.
