A mate of mine is gonna buy a new pc, and I'm helping him building it. His budget is around 600-700 euro's, and it will mostly be used for gaming. Not hardcore gaming, but he just wants to be able to play most of the newest games on medium settings.
This is a build I came up with, the cooler is optional, we had 30eu left.
Any comments on it?
Edit: Oh, he already has a PSU and 2 HDD's

Looks good, I'd recommend saving a few more bucks & buying a better GFX though.

The 6870 is perfect for medium graphics gaming...

This build pretty much fits that description perfectly, but the cooler is really not needed, because he will never really be stressing that CPU.

Getting a 2550K with a H67 board is a bad configuration.

That's why he's getting a H77 board.

Get a 7850 instead if you can. Hell the 7770 is just below a 6870. Also just get a 2500. You can easily of it with no effort to 3400mhz. Apply that money to the gfx.

7850/70 are well worth the money from what i hear and will be beast for a good period of time.

Crap I mean to say a 2550K with a H77 board is a bad configuration.
The 2550K is 100MHz more, but it does not have internal IGP. If your graphic card dies, then you won't be able to use the onboard video connectors. It also lacks support for QuickSync and LucidLogix based technologies like Lucid Virtu and Lucid Virtu MVP.

Granted he has a GPU that makes no difference really. I mean yea he should just get a board with no display adapters on it period but, yea. From a personal stand point I have no onboard video period, so if my GPU were to die I'd have to put in this ancient MX440 I got in a draw.

Well, any suggestions on another mobo? Cause tbh, I kind of randomly chose a mobo that had the slots that I needed, since I don't really know anything about it..

Don't worry about it. You don't need integrated graphics.
