I finished gosick
it was really good but the ending was a little lacking.. There were some things that I just had to guess for things to make sense. But overall I really liked it.

how did the protagonist got in the army
the weird dream he had where he was in the desert
how did he send the letters
why did her hair turn silver

they could have explained all those things but didn't. Anyways you can figure it out anyways..

The protagonist was a soldier's third son and it was traditional to serve in the army, plus he would have been drafted anyway.
The dream in a desert was just a dream I guess, because he didn't really lose his legs.
I don't know how he sent the letters but I imagine they took a long ass time to get to her.
It isn't clear in the anime but in the LN I believe she dyes her hair because she knows people will be looking for her.

the fact that her hair stays silver is fact that she didn't dye it.
It was not silver hair but grey hair due to all the stress and things that happened to her.

I kind of like how it makes you think instead of spoonfeeding all the info.
